President’s Report: Don Hoopes
* All presidents from all councils were in
attendance at the last presidents meeting.
* Request for money for the 2008 budget to be
used for a Rec.Council in the North
Harford district looks very
promising. We currently have 4 listings
to look at for
property to be purchased.
* As a reminder, please pick up trash after
your functions.
* A suggestion was made at the presidents
meeting for each council to contribute to a
memorial gift for the Father of David
Roddy who was killed in duty.
* Nominations forms were handed out for the
Mid Atlantic Sports Alliance
Sportsmanship Award. This honor is for coaches or participants
displaying
exemplary behavior. The winner will be recognized in Annapolis
in January or
February.
* Guidelines are in the works to prevent Rec.
Councils from having travel tryouts too
early and preventing all those interested
from attending.
* Money was given to the Rec. Council to
obtain a structure to hold goals, mowers, etc…
The School board says it must be a
permanent structure. We will continue
to discuss
options as this would be more expensive
than the money allotted.
Treasurers Report: Russell Yurek
* Current net worth of 74,715.82
Vice Presidents Report: Bob Astarita
* Bob made a suggestion to put a gate up at
the Highland fields to prevent kids from
driving down on the fields and damaging
them. Motion was made and passed to use
the allotment previously given for the
storage building to purchase the gate.
