North Harford Recreation Council

Meeting Minutes - 4/19/06

In Attendance:  Don Hoopes, Russ Yurek, Dianna Skrocki, Debbie Hess, Joyce Goslee, Mike Haslup, John Wiegand and Mark Bonitatibus.

President’s Report: Don Hoopes

*  The insurance issue was discussed again at the President’s meeting.  Cost would be

    $3.50 per participant.  This would cover players, coaches and volunteers.  We will

    discuss this again when we have a larger attendance.

*  The Annual Rec. Council dinner is scheduled for Friday, June 16^th from 7pm - 11pm at

     The Jarrettsville Gardens.  Cost is $27.50/person and the theme is Historical Night.

*  A show on Rec. will air on the Harford Cable Network in April.

Treasurers Report: Russell Yurek 

*  Current net worth of  $89,297.23.

*  All programs seem to be in good shape

*  New insurance is needed to cover the treasurer as stated in the By Laws.  The cost is

    $273.00.

Vice Presidents Report: Bob Astarita

*  No Vice President’s Report at this time.

Old Business

*   The minutes from the March meeting were accepted

Program Reports

Karate (Don Hoopes) - currently working with 20 students.  Had a surprise test with 8 white-belts and all received 100% and were promoted to yellow-belts. 

Dance (Joyce Goslee & Debbie Hess) - recital is 7/7:30pm on June 10^th at Kennard Dale High School.  Pictures will be held on Saturday, May 20^th at Janet Fulcher’s Studio.

Boy’s Basketball (John Wiegand) - the 11/12 travel team finished 3^rd in the county and the 9/10 travel team finished 4^th.  A lot of Jarrettsville players have shown interest in transferring here next season.

Scuba (Mike Haslup) -  another small class is almost finished.

Basic Lifesaving (Mark Bonitatibus) - there will be one more class this weekend and then they are finished for the year.
