Schools do not allow inflatable devices of any kind to be used on their property. Russ volunteered to take responsibility for
the key to access the water. Donations
are currently being picked up from local business owners. They also were notified that a permit must
be obtained in order to hold a raffle and a report must be filed after the
raffle is held. Russ volunteered to be
responsible for both.

Program Reports:
Girl‘s Lax (Kay Rickey) - all teams are set and doing well. Games are underway.
Wrestling (Christy Avig) - finished for this season. Everything went well.
Dance (Joyce Goslee)
- pictures are this Saturday
and the recital is set for June 9th at Kennard Dale. The competition team decided not to make the
trip to Las Vegas. A few of their
teammates were unable to make the trip, and the remainder decided that they did
not want to compete unless they could do it as a whole.
Scuba (Mike Haslup & Julie Schott) - Next Friday is the last night for the Boys Scouts before
testing. Some are still coming in
Fridays for additional practice.
Karate (Don Hoopes)
- currently have 15-20 students.
Football (Charlie Dawson) - 102 are currently signed up with a few more
potentials. The program will have 2
more teams then expected. They
currently have $9,100 in donations and another $5,500 that they need to
collect. Mike and Rob have been in
contact with the High School including the athletic director in regards to the
outfield of the baseball diamond. The
concern was that the field may get damaged during use for football. They are still waiting on approval that the
field may be used for games and a suggestion was made to Charlie that it may
help to offer repairs to the field by the football program after the season is
over.
Rob Bailey (Parks & Rec) -
*
Bob Astarita is the contact for field usage. All changes need to go through him.

the last week of school and will continue through the summer until approx. the
opening of next school year.
Renovations will then move to the gym area scheduled for Sept. - Nov. 2007

date of June 23rd.
New Business:
*
In response to the issues that occurred during the opening day planning,
a suggestion was made that a master list of guidelines be produced for future
planning of such activities. Rob also
reminded the counsel that when planning functions that take place on school
grounds, a chain of command needs to be followed in order for things to get
approved in the proper manner. First
contact should be to go through the Parks and Rec. office. He also suggested that planning certain
activities need plenty of notice time in order to be approved or to remedy any
issues that may arise.
*
The counsel presented Rob Bailey with a card to give thanks to his
service to our Recreation Counsel. Mike
Getz will be the point of contact for the North Harford District beginning May
1st. Rob also gave his
thanks to the counsel and assured that he would still be available to us if his
assistance was needed. Mike Getz can be
contacted at his cell (410-688-1401) or office (410-692-7820). We will still have use of the local office
at the Elementary School, but will need to have the outside door changed so
that the storage key will also open the office door.
*
The Board of Harford County Public Schools is still deciding if they
want to go forward with the plan to install turf on the High School football
field. The cost of maintenance is their
main concern.
*
Girl’s lacrosse inquired about the possible repair of the bowl field due
to standing water and if they should offer to help in this matter. Rob advised that if they wish to help, a
plan must be submitted for approval, but his suggestion to the counsel would be
to use their capital budget requests on Parks&Rec. owned properties such as
Highland.
THE NEXT MEETING WILL BE WEDNESDAY, May16th, at 7:15PM.
