Program Reports:
Karate (Don Hoopes)
- the blue belts have advanced to green as well as a couple white belts to
yellow. Going well.
Football (Charlie Dawson) - 143 are registered with approx. 7 more coming to sign
up. Charlie requested the same practice
areas.
Softball (George Dawson) - George passed
out Opening Day agendas. His umpires
requested to be paid in cash. ($40) per game.
Russ will advance the money and George will pass it on to the coaches to
pay the fees. George had concerns about
his rule book. Whenever a question
cannot be answered in the current rule book, coaches are referred to the ASA
rule book. We are currently not a
member and would have to pay a fee to obtain an ASA rule book. George will look into this matter further. Mike confirmed with George that the
custodian, water access and bathrooms were all set for Opening Day. He also reminded George to have the
port-a-pots removed after the activities.
Soccer (Bob Astarita) - registrations coming up. It
was brought to our attention that Baltimore County can no longer require other
counties to carry insurance in order to play with their teams.
Mike Getz (Parks & Rec) - Mike will have
the desk and metal chairs in the rec. office removed and look for 2 nice tables
for the office. He will also be getting
some chairs from the McFall Center.
New Business:
*
A suggestion was made to donate to the High School stadium and
concession improvements. Charlie has
already donated $500 from his football program and the rec. council will
further discuss what the appropriate amount to donate will be.
*
The council will schedule a meeting to discuss the new field
scheduling. Mike will get a copy of the
agreement for usage. The High School
should have a schedule of their dates and times for Mike by June 1st
or possibly earlier. Our rec. is
scheduled to have the field 3 or 4 nights a week after 6:00, as well as the
entire weekend. The usage chain should
be as follows: 1) High School 2) NH
Rec. 3) NH Travel 4) Feeder schools.
*
A motion was made and approved to donate $120 dollars to the Children’s
Center of North Harford at the Highland Schools for the annual basket
bingo. Charlie also donated $120 from
the football program.
