North Harford Recreation Council

Meeting Minutes - 3/15/06

In Attendance:  Don Hoopes, Russ Yurek, Dianna Skrocki, Rob Bailey, Joyce Goslee, and Karen Sturtevant.

President’s Report: Don Hoopes

*  IRS issue with all Rec. Councils has been resolved in favor of the councils.

*  The Annual Rec. Council dinner is scheduled for Friday, June 16^th from 7pm - 11pm at

     The Jarrettsville Gardens.  Cost is $27.50/person and a head count is needed by 4/1/06.

Treasurers Report: Russell Yurek 

*  Current net worth of  $94,848.59

*  All programs seem to be in good shape

Vice Presidents Report: Bob Astarita

*  No Vice President’s Report at this time.

Old Business

*   The minutes from the February meeting were accepted

Program Reports

Karate (Don Hoopes) - program is doing very well with a total of 25 students.

Dance (Joyce Goslee) - things are going well.  They will be meeting with a photographer in Fawn Grove to do their dance pictures and may look to do an all day Saturday shoot.

Fitness Swim (Karen Sturtevant) - going very strong with 17 new sign ups for Spring.

Rob Bailey (Parks & Rec) -  Baseball, Softball and Lacrosse will have their opening day parade and ceremonies on April 29^th.   Steve Wheeler has signed up as field coordinator.  A girls pick up style Spring Basketball program has been arranged.

New Business

*  An insurance company (FDL) has been found to offer insurance @ $3.50 per participant, but for now Baltimore County is deferring this requirement.  We will continue to discuss this possibility and feel that the liability portion of the insurance is something we may like to pursue.
