return has been filed for 2008.
* There were 7 returned
checks from Sept. that came out of each program’s funds in Oct.
* A deposit was made in
error to our account of $1700 This
error was corrected on Oct. 27th as a withdrawal from the account.
Vice Presidents Report: Bob Astarita
* Nothing new to report at
this time.
Old Business/Committee Updates
* Land Acquisition: Don spoke with Chad Shrodes about finding
land. Chad said he would definitely
work to locate land for us. He
identified a farm on Stansbury Rd. that is a possibility.
* Highland building: Lisa and Bob walked the property with the
county. There were issues with the
original site. They found that the best
place for the new building would be behind the dugout. The building needs to be ADA accessible and
needs to be able to accommodate a car pulling up beside it. Charlie will work on finding a company that
will construct it. Don suggested that a
concrete pad would be better than a stone base.

New Business
* The cheerleading program
is looking to possibly start a tumbling program to run Jan. through June. They are just in the beginning stages and
are still looking for a coach. They
would need to use the activity room in the gym one night a week for approx. 2
hours. They will continue to pursue the
possibility of this program.
* The mats at the middle
school are in need of replacement. The
mats are approx. $204 each. Don will
talk to the middle school about sharing this cost with the rec. council.
* Morning Basketball and
Cardio Kickboxing are no longer active programs. A motion was made and passed to close out their departments and
move any balances to the Future Enhancements fund.
* The Volleyball program
has Mondays and Wednesdays blocked off at the High School, but are only playing
on Mondays and using Wednesdays for a backup.
Lisa will contact Chuck to inform him that he will not be able to
continue using this space for backup purposes, especially with basketball
starting up. She will give him the
option to pick either Mon. or Wed. so the other night can be open for another
program to use.
* Karen Sturdevant would
like to try a winter swim program but is concerned on how high the custodial
fees would be and wants to keep registration costs low. Bob said he would also be using the school
for indoor soccer and would split the fees with her.
THE NEXT MEETING WILL BE WEDNESDAY, Jan. 20th, at
7:00PM at the NHES Parks & Rec. Office.
