Program Reports

Boy’s Travel Basketball (Jeannie Tittle)  -  currently have 4 teams: 3 (11-12) and 1 (13-14).  Season is going well.

Karate (Don Hoopes) - have about 20 students and doing well.

Football (Charlie Dawson) - will not be participating in the HB league next season.  They will now be competing in a Harford/Cecil county league.  This will make it easier to control and competition will remain just as good.  The 11/13 team won the HB championship.  Registration will be sometime in the end of March or beginning of April.

Dance (Joyce Goslee) - going well.  The recital is tentatively set for May21st/22nd at the High School.

Girl’s Lax (Tim Rickey) - going well, but unfortunately had one coach step down from the 13/14 MYLA team due to his daughter’s injury.  Tryouts will be held this weekend on the turf field for MYLA.  Some of the high school girls, parents and Tara Bucher will be helping out.  Rec. team evaluations will be the following weekend.  Looking to have over 200 girls total with 75 of them signed up for rec.  The 13-17 team is looking good.  The season is scheduled to start March 1st.  The opening day combined with baseball and softball is tentatively set for April 17th.  Tim will be talking to George and Walt about possibly having Jarrettsville be part of the opening day.  A decision will be announced at the next rec. meeting.

Lisa Emge (Parks & Rec) -  the next flyer will be out in March. The door to the rec.office will now be alarmed after normal custodial coverage and on weekends.  She is still trying to get keys for the bathrooms.
