Program Reports

Soccer (Bob Astarita) -  Some travel teams are currently playing indoor.

Girls Lacrosse (Tim Rickey) -  57 currently signed up.  3 full teams have gone to the Churchville Program.  Currently have only 5 (11-12 yr.) signed up, but hoping to recruit more from the middle school to make a team.  There are 17 (14-18yr) girls signed up to play in the York League and the high school will refer any girls that are cut from their team tryouts.  Also hoping that the website will generate more sign ups.  The winter indoor program is doing well and have received more sign ups at each session.

Karate (Don Hoopes) - 10-12 that started in Sept. are ready to advance to the next level.  All students are doing well.  Currently have 20 students in total.

Girls Basketball (Linda Heaps) - program is in full swing and doing well.

Wrestling (Christy Avig) - Currently have 42 registered and have increased practices to 4 nights a week.  Hoping to get a lot of walk-ins for the upcoming tournament.

Dance (Joyce Goslee) - doing fine, but looking to secure a recital location.  Kennard Dale is not cooperating for their location.  Rob Bailey will help with making some calls to find a location that is suitable to hold approx. 400 for the recital.

Scuba (Mike Haslup & Julie Schott - currently still working with the boy scouts.

Softball (Roy Dillow) - Registration will take place the end of Jan./beginning of Feb.

Adult Volleyball (Chuck Blair) - only had 5 or 6 registered.  Will try to get started back up again in March.

Afternoon Fitness Swim (Karen Sturtevant) - had a strong fall and a lot of guests coming to swim.  February 14 through May 26th is confirmed for pool time.

Rob Bailey (Parks & Rec) - needs all info for 1099s.  The next President’s meeting will be on Monday, February 20th.

New Business

*   NH area Rec. Council - Tim spoke to Hopkin’s Realty and they are actively looking

for an area for the project.  He also spoke with Barry Glassman’s assistant and was

told he would support our efforts.

Website - Franco will need information from each program lead to create their page.

At minimum, he will need the program name,  program lead name and their contact

information.  E-Teams offers a free service that each program can use to manage their

own weather updates and cancellations.  This will be linked to the main website.  The

idea was brought up to advertise the new website on the marquis in front of the school.

Franco will also look into adding a link from the Harford County Website.  The new

site is up and running www.northharfordrec.com.

THE NEXT MEETING WILL BE WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 15TH.
